About

Darshana Palkar is a Professor of Finance at Nova Southeastern University (NSU). She joined NSU in 2009 and teaches in the undergraduate and MBA programs. She taught at Minnesota State University, Mankato (MNSU) from 2006-2009. Her current research focuses on initial public offerings, peer effects, and the relation between expected inflation and equity prices. Her research articles have been published in Financial Analysts Journal, Financial Review, International Journal of Managerial Finance, Applied Financial Economics, Managerial Finance, and Journal of Investing. She has presented at various regional, national, and international conferences. 

Palkar has received accolades for teaching at all institutions she has taught. She was a recipient of the Teaching Fellowship award at University of North Texas in the year 2004-05. She received the Outstanding Finance Faculty award for two consecutive years 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 at MNSU. In December 2022, she was one of the co-winners of HCBE's "Teaching Excellence Faculty of the Year" award. She was also nominated as a finalist for the Stuey’s Professor of the Year Award in year 2022-23.
