About

Emmy Maurilus Ph.D., BCBA-D, CABAS® Master Teacher, is Assistant Chair/Assistant Professor of the Abraham S. Fischler College of Education and School of Criminal Justice. She completed her Ph.D. in Behavior Analysis, M. Phil. in Behaviorism, and M.A. in Teaching as Applied Behavior Analysis at Columbia University. Dr. Maurilus is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D) with experience across educational, clinical, and in-home settings.

She works with both typically and atypically developing children, decreasing challenging behavior and increasing socially significant behavior. Dr. Maurilus has taught in the public school system utilizing the principles of behavior analysis, mentored graduate students, provided training sessions to public school teachers and behavior analysts, and conducted research in ABA.

Her research interests include clinical and teacher training, Teaching as Applied Behavior Analysis, Verbal Behavior Development Theory, conditioned reinforcement, and the Accelerated Independent Learner® model. Dr. Maurilus’ current work is focused on the application of behavior analysis to education and the preparation of students for careers in Behavior Analysis.
