About

Dr. Teng Li is a legal historian with research interests in empires, state-building, and the role of lawyers. She received her PhD and JD from Northwestern University, where she produced a dissertation discussing judicial autonomy in Northeastern China and Taiwan - previously Japanese colonies - after the Second World War. Before joining Nova Southeastern University, she taught at the University of Portland.
