About

Yvette Fuentes, Ph.D., teaches a wide variety of courses at NSU, including introductory and intermediate-level Spanish language courses, Spanish for Specific Purposes, and upper-level courses on Spanish, Latin American and Latinx literatures and cultures.
 
Her research interests include Iberian, Latin American and Caribbean Cultures and Literatures, Hispanic women writers; U.S. Latinx literature and culture; feminism and gender studies. She has written on the work of Daína Chaviano, Dulce María Loynaz, Mayra Montero, Laura Ruíz Montes, Jesús Díaz and Antonio José Ponte. Some of her publications have appeared in Anthuriam: A Caribbean Studies Journal, Camino Real: A Multidisciplinary Journal on U.S. Latino Studies, Caribe: Revista de Cultura y Literatura, Letras Femeninas, and the Hispanic Research Journal, as well as in award-winning author Daina Chaviano’s website.
