Abstract


In the last twenty years, the mandatory death penalty ("MDP") in the Commonwealth Caribbean has evolved due to recurrent scrutiny at the national and regional levels. While undoubtedly the judicial erosion of the MDP marks an impressive human rights trend in the region, the trajectory of this change has been complex and frequently discussed.
