Abstract

Today, early childhood practitioners continue to search for ways to safeguard children’s wellbeing and future. Within the context of the classroom, many seek for ways to address the realities faced by many children in a time where concerns remain about children’s successful development. Being conscious about the continuous societal challenges, the need for efforts guided at the best interest of the child call for building children’s resiliency. From the perspective of the classroom, this chapter presents a research-based framework to build and support children’s resiliency. Guided to nurture children’s resilient behavior, readers find a discussion of current research on resiliency along with suggestions for practitioners to implement in their classroom strategies and supportive practices.
