Teaching and Learning with GenAI: A Discussion with Members of the NSU WCC GenAI Learning Community

Abstract

The purpose of this roundtable is to provide educators throughout the university with a forum for examining how generative AI (genAI) is impacting teaching and learning across the curriculum. Colleagues will engage with one another in a supportive environment while developing a shared understanding of how generative AI can be used for a variety of educational purposes. Members of the LC will discuss specific areas of interest related to generative AI and share teaching strategies and assessment methods. Participants will be invited to share their insights, as well.

Participants will:

Discuss the WCC genAI LC including its purpose, process, and outcomes.Share thoughts and ideas related to how to best use genAI for teaching and learning in a variety of different disciplines.Explore ways to develop one’s own knowledge, skills, and attitudes related to genAI.
